Department of Zoology

Introduction::

Under the guidance of Professor and Head, PG Department of Zoology, Dr. B.S.,Salve.and Dr.P.P.Joshi,the department provides skill-based education along with regular curriculum. In the academic year 2021-22, 167 students have optedZoology as optional subject for B.Sc. degree and 73 students appearing for P.G. course.Both the faculties Dr.B.S. Salve and Dr.P.P.Joshiare recognized research supervisors.

History::

The subject Zoology was started in 1968 in the college. The department has contributed to the glories of history of the institute in the unique distinguished manner. Under the leadership of Mr. M.R.Ghumnar in co-operation with lecturers Mr. L.N.Paritkar and Dr. V. R.Madlapure.The department is proud of students working in different fields at home and abroad. We are especially happy that students of Zoology have succussed in different types of exams such as NET/SET/GATE. Department having Post Graduate course and recognized Research Center.Nine Students awarded Doctoral Degree and Seven students are working for their research work in the center.

Objectives::

• To provide education in the basic subjects of Zoology knowledge and its application.
• Knowledge of Zoological research and ability to communicate Zoological ideas.
• To enhance research activities.
