a. About Department (History) –

Introduction:

History Department is the undergraduate level (B.A.). The department always aims to provide quality education to disadvantaged rural students in Hingoil area. Department is one of the most sought-after subjects, many students are attracting to this subject. As students are constantly connected to the subject, the department has also successfully catered to the educational needs of students. The department is involved in organizing student group discussions and seminars, tours and also provides counselling facilities for competitive examinations. In this department more than 400 students are enrolled in graduate every year.

 

History:

The Department was established in the year 1967, very first year of establishment of our college. Mr. M. M. Mardikar was the first person of the Department and took charge of Head of the Department, and Mr. Chondekar was a second man of Department. Mr. M M. Mardikar was retirement in 2004 Mr. Chondekar charge of H.O.D. in Department Mr. Chondekar was retirement in 2005 At present Dr. R. R. Pimpalpalle is only a working permanent faculty in the Department. Dr. R R. Pimpalpalle is appointed as an Assistant Professor by the institute in the year 2006. He took the charge of Head of the Department in the year 2009 and working till date. Before the year 2006 there was no confirmed faculty at the Department, as such the Department were being run with the help of professor appointed on C.H.B. Dr. R. R. Pimpalpalle have been recognized as Research Supervisors by Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded and currently one student is awarded their Ph. D. degree and five research scholars are working under their guidance. The department holds an excellent record of good results and various activities like certificate course, guest lecture, class seminars, The faculties have developed E-content and published the same through the e-platforms like YouTube, Facebook and WhatsApp.

b. Aims and Objectives of the Department–

Objectives:

  • To develop the understanding of basic concept in subject.
  • To enable the students to understand various aspect of History.
  • To provide a general understanding of the functioning of the History value of life.
  • To prepare the student for employment in various fields job.

 

Aim:

This course provides a basic understanding of Historical concepts, perspectives and Methodology. It also familiarizes the student with the fundamentals of Indian History. This course will help the students to develop correlation between the present with past.

c. Course Outcomes

  • Aware of the basic themes, concepts, chronology and the Scope of Indian History
  • Acquaint with range of issues related to Indian History that span distinct eras
  • Think and argue historically and critically in writing and discussion
  • Prepare for various types of Competitive Examinations
  • Critically recognise the Social, Political, Economic and Cultural aspects of History

Carry out the basic research in Indian History

  • Realize the personal values i.e. ethical, moral & social responsibility, integrity and cross civilization consciousness
  • Cognisant of the basic subjects, impressions, timeline and the Scope of Modern Indian History & Social Reformers of Modern Maharashtra
  • Learn the history of Maharashtra from an investigative perspective
  • Develop a spirit of enquiry & the capability to critically assess the authentic evidence necessary for renovation of history
  • They will draw a valuable lesson from the contribution of great social reformers of Modern India
  • They will acquire in-depth understanding of art & architecture available at region & native level
  • Be familiarized with the interdisciplinary nature of History and its auxiliary subjects.
  • Achieve a historical awareness of the diversity of human experience across time & space

  • To introduce the P.G. program of the subject in history
  • Organisation State and National level Seminar / Conference and Workshop
  • Organised the various scholars Guest Lecture of  Eminent Personalities
  • To  undertake   and initiate career-oriented course in tourism and Indian Script
  • To introduce the museum in History and Archaeological  Moments
  • To establish the MoUs with different institutions and organizations and undertake the various activities.
  • Organised the Students  Seminars, Quiz competition & Project Work in Indian History.
